Have you had a go at crossing the channel?

Apparently people do it for fun, they don't really need to come here.

Cattawade has a handy car park and launching spot and its a nice paddle to Flatford. At the other end Sudbury down to the Henny Swan and back is my regular route. You can park at the Stour River Trust for free and there's a slipway and jetty. Bures also has a couple of nice launch spots but you might need to carry it a bit further. Can't really go wrong on the Stour!

Don’t forget to get the relevant license, authorities do check…

Slightly further north, Iken near snape is a good access point to the Alde. Went there this Sunday for kayaking , there were plenty of paddle boards about.

We have one and an inflatable Kayak.

Only ever been to Dedham with them but we’re camping at Alton seater this weekend so will use it there.

The license for using it on rivers is a bit pricey and I’m yet to work out whether it’s the craft or person that’s covered.

British Canoe Union membership includes river license and covers the person not craft so is transferable between kayak, paddleboard etc. Not just for canoes despite the name!

Also worth noting that anywhere tidal doesn’t need a license so waldringfield etc doesn’t need one
