Darling to Swansea
Twine to Fulham or Hull unsure which team.

Already replaced Darling (who is top draw) with Jack Tucker from the Gills.
A stand out young centre half (in the mould of a young Adam Webster).

I wonder what they'll get for Twine.

Poll: Apologies I'm bored. How many signings will we have by Plymouth at home.

Thought Darling was a class defender probably one of the best in league 1 didn’t really see much of Tucker but Gills went down so i’m not sure he will fill Darlings boots but we’ll see.

Winkleman can't really fund the club any other way, esp either their limited fan base

Poll: Will Phil ever confirm we are actually close on a signing ever again

The local press in Hull were reporting last week that Twine is their No1 target and have already offered £3 million, whilst being prepared to go to £4 million.

How true any of that is of course is another matter!

Same for most clubs outside of the Prem…. Develop a player, sell them on and turn a very healthy profit to allow them to pay the bills and invest in the next one.

It's a very delicate art though, you've got to get it right every time or the flow stops working. And for all the talk about MK Dons' being brilliant at recruitment, last season was the first time they'd assembled a Top 6 League One side since 2015.

Between their very effective loanees going home and 2 key players going they'll do well to repeat last year.

And they will know that full well…. The right loans and players to develop are crucial to them.

At some point you have to be able to keep players (and managers) if you want to be successful. Selling off one star to incrementally improve what you have is one thing but they can't keep hold of anyone. In the last 6 months it'll be O'Riley, Darling and Twine out the door with their manager going last summer as well. They did well to appoint Manning but would imagine he's towards the top of several Championship clubs lists if they don't start this season well.

You keep people by getting promoted. Success breeds success. Last summer they lost fraser and martin and got better. Who says they can't do the same again. Signing darling's replacement immediately instead of scrabbling around on deadline day points to good succession planning. They will be a threat.

Poll: Which would you accept?

They might be but they've lost 7 of the 11 that started their play off second leg (8 if you include Twine) so it's more likely they aren't.
