Smith and vaulks are big signings for L1! Would have taken both in a heartbeat.
I don’t feel we have matched them so far. Really hope we step it up with marquee signings.

Smith has scored just 11 more goals in his career than Ladapo.
He also only scored about 14 more in his time at Rotherham whilst playing 60 odd more games than Ladapo.
So tbh we've signed someone of similar level who suits our managers style more than Smith would.
Regarding Vaulks. He has scord 11 goals in 104 games. We've had chappers and Burns do similar in just 1 season.

Why would he flop there? Wednesday can play quite direct football, Smith’s height and physicality will suit that perfectly. He’s shown that at this level, he’s a very decent striker and I can’t see that changing next season either. | |

They were by no means direct last season. If anything, the fans were getting on Moore's back for being too tippy tappy. You don't have players like Bannan if you're planning on playing kick and rush. I saw them against Sunderland. They were nothing special and Bannon was the only decent player they had.
We shouldn’t worry who other teams buy/acquire. It’s what we do. The last thing we need is a ‘marquee signing’; a ‘statement’ signing. We need to build a proper team. |  | | |

Ihiekwe isn't as good as Woolfy or Edmundson.
Vaulks isn't as good as Morsy (Ball TBC)
