That may well be the case, given he has previous in this type of thing If he trues to hang on, it makes the bloater look even weaker (as well as the government) However, another by election gives voters a further chance to tell fatboy to far cough.

Yep. Without meaning to defend Neil Parish, this is a more serious offence than watching porn in the chamber. Especially as it’s seemingly a common pattern of behaviour.

Another Tory MP resigning due to sexual assault on 23:41 - Jun 30 with 1639 views | HARRY10 | "Mr Pincher, 52, was out boozing at Tory Party private members club, the Carlton Club, in London’s Piccadilly when he is said to have assaulted two fellow guests. Several Conservative MPs are understood to have complained about his behaviour." Sounds like it was more than just a case of one incident of inappropriate behaviour - as that can be hushed up. The member is quietly removed, taken to an upstairs room to sleep it off etc. If it came to the attention of a number of MPs, then it must have been rather 'out of hand'. I suspect when further details emerge he will be gone [Post edited 30 Jun 2022 23:51]

Better to attack policy, corruption and incompetence. Let the party and public jump on this as there is always the risk of it backfiring. [Post edited 1 Jul 2022 6:25]

Because there is no mechanism for constituents to sack their MP (outside of a General Election), unless they are imprisoned for more than six months.

Agree. But it’s depressing how frequently when you mention it to people you get “yeah all politicians are the same”. Bizarrely a narrative being pushed by the MailOnline types, as well as those on the left who wish Starmer wore a badly fitted brown suit, and spent his spare time in an allotment.

Yes, it would seem the nickname ar se (pincher) was a bit of a giveaway, and 'Downing Street was aware of “unsubstantiated allegations” against Christopher Pincher at the time Boris Johnson promoted him to deputy chief whip'. Though they had earlier claimed they were not aware of any allegations. Are there others, you ask. Well currently we have David Warburton - allegations of sexual harassment and cocaine use Rob Roberts - broke the sexual misconduct policy by making repeated and unwanted advances to a man Unamed Tory MP - arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault offences spanning seven years. The thought has to be that if an individual is considered not fit to be a minister (through numerous allegations of sexual misconduct), then they are not fit to be an MP either. What’s really depressing is that people will look the other way when their preferred politician lies. The double standards of the hardcore Starmer faithful are quite something – and just to protect an empty dishonest right-leaning “alternative”. Political tribalism at its worst.

I don’t see 10 broken leadership pledges as a sign of integrity and honesty. Nor do I see an authoritarian, anti-democratic and narrow Labour as much of an electoral weapon let alone the sort of people who should be running the country. If you can make that work in your own head, then well done.

I don't see anyone else, anywhere else, imagining the subject in this matter is Starmer Otherwise todays polls have Con 30 Lab 41 Libdems 15 which translates into Lab winning 340 seats (Lab majority), with the added thought that tactical voting would cost the Tories a further 30-40 seats https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/fcgi-bin/usercode.py?scotcontrol=Y&CON=3

I was responding to a post not the OP. In that post, it was consciously or unconsciously minimizing the moral and policy void that is Starmer, his shadow cabinet and Labour HQ. You righties never read things, do you?

Might be speaking for myself here, but I'm not sure there many in the "Starmer faithful" clan - more a case of "Starmer will do for now, unless someone better comes along". Us extreme centrists, by nature, don't do hero worship like the Corbyn mob.

“Starter will do for now” ... With the greatest possible respect, I suggest you take your head out of the sand and take a look around at a country utterly lacking in political leadership. The rudderless drift of the UK is of course a problem for a useless government but it is also a problem from an empty opposition that’s meant to show an alternative.
