It's the forest, I guess as a link between 1984 striking ( or not) miners and the background to the community today. But there's a lot more to it than that, particularly topical with police actions over the years.

It was a great series. I’m glad that they dramatised it the way that they did, rather than a factual remake.

I enjoyed it but wouldn't go overboard about it. The motive was really weak (although not sure if this was true to the real events or not - if so then I guess there's not much to be done about that!) and the last half hour or so felt a bit drawn out and cringey...shame as the first couple of episodes were really good.
Edit: a quick google shows that the real life motive was very different to that given in the programme... [Post edited 1 Jul 2022 11:53]
