Rather worrying letter on the "Bill of Rights" 11:03 - Jul 1 with 516 viewsDanTheMan

From the UK Parliament Human Rights Committee.

Quite long but worth reading. Especially worrying are the ones around right to protest but it's generally nasty across the board.

This is a good reason why both parties are not the same, I really could not see Labour proposing something like this.

Always hate the title “Rt Hon” - there’s nothing honourable about the likes of Raab and co.

Perhaps it stands for Horribly Openly Negligent.

And it opens up the less vs fewer debate:

"Less than 2% of respondents thought any changes should be made to the
requirement that the Minister introducing a Bill to Parliament should make a
statement as to whether the Bill was compatible with human rights (what is now
section 19 of the HRA)."

"Fewer than...," surely?

Facters????

"......Paul Mariner......John Wark...... Brian Tablet...errrrrrr Talbot"
Poll: In a hellish scenario, would you rather...

2% isn't a countable object in the same way that the number 2 is (I think), so it is right to be less than 2% (but it would be fewer than 2).

But isn't it the 'respondents' that are crucial in this case?
