Club trying something different 14:55 - Jul 13 with 1896 views | FrimleyBlue | Interesting to see some random changes being made by town admin but also at PR First or short names for players on social media 'Town' only showing on scoreboard. Now obviously the scoreboard is obviously a visual for those that go.. but just interesting to see what peoples thoughts are on it. The naming thing on twitter was annoying, of course the more time passes you get used to it. But tyreece threw me last night. Then it took a good few minutes to remember who Greg was. The Town thing. Imo it should always be ipswich.

Club trying something different on 15:27 - Jul 13 with 1737 views | SitfcB | Yeah I think they were just going with the pre-season ‘vibe’ hopefully back to normal for the Bolton game. Always thought clubs using nicknames and tagging players in the ‘live feed’ on twitter was sh!te.

Club trying something different on 15:34 - Jul 13 with 1668 views | Sikamikanico | Pretty sure the scoreboard was like that for both pre-season friendlies last year and it then reverted to Ipswich Town for the season proper edited because I googled and it wasn't like that for the palace game so no idea why I thought that [Post edited 13 Jul 2022 15:36]

Club trying something different on 15:42 - Jul 13 with 1586 views | el_granjero | The twitter naming thing was definitely annoying. I assumed it was maybe to do with the character limit though, knowing they might have to announce seven subs in the same tweet, so choosing to be consistent with the shortest options from the start. Either way, hopefully they'll drop it when the season starts.

It is and it isn’t. Consistent branding and identity and voice is important. Not as important as 25 goals a season striker but it does have value.

Club trying something different on 16:11 - Jul 13 with 1393 views | TractorCam | The scoreboard doesn't bother me, not that i'll be able to see the small one in my seat but I liked it just saying Town. The twitter nicknames was very weird.

But the former is all rather moot if you don't deliver the later or a derivative of that.

Club trying something different on 16:31 - Jul 13 with 1179 views | Mookamoo | I think they are trying to aim the Twitter feed to a certain demographic knowing those that don't like it will just follow the updates on the BBC or Teletext. I don't mind the names thing. It also helps humanise the players so hopefully people won't just see them as commodities to be yelled at.
Club trying something different on 17:57 - Jul 13 with 958 views | STYG | It’s fine. Subs in the season will be graphics with player photos and squad numbers etc and we can only change five players across three changes. I assume it’s just because seven subs were made at once. Can see how it annoyed some especially with players with the same first name. Two tweets. One confirming those off. One those on. Full names used. Job done.

There’s enough characters to name them all by their last names.
