Agreed. Jason wore 5 throughout most of the first half of 87-88. Nigel Gleghorn and Neill Rimmer, amongst others, also had a brief go before Dozzell was back at 5 at the end of the season. |

It was mainly for handful of games in November-December 1990, when he came back into the side after being injured against Wednesday on the opening day. Lowe had also been mostly crocked that season, so David Gregory had been the regular number 7. When Lowe returned, Dozzell moved to 6 for one game before settling in at 10 for the rest of the season (or until he was injured again, anyway). |  | | |

You do realise players have preferred numbers though, don't you? Like Bialkowski has worn 33 throughout his career, rather than number 1. Ederson at Man City has worn 31 throughout his career.
You'd hate Celtic, the number their academy lads get given are the numbers they keep throughout their time at the club. James Forrest has worn 49 since he first broke through like 10 years, Kieran Tierney wore 63 until he left for Arsenal. A couple of years back, Mikey Johnston changed his number from 73 to 19, and there was genuine uproar up there. It was quite funny at the time. |  |
