Jason Dozzell and Ian Redford were regularly number 5 in the late 80s, but really it was a Liverpool thing - Ray Kennedy and Ronnie Whelan.

I don’t remember Jason wearing 5 btw (must have been one of the rare seasons he and Warky weren’t playing together) I do remember Redford had it a few times.

Agreed. Jason wore 5 throughout most of the first half of 87-88. Nigel Gleghorn and Neill Rimmer, amongst others, also had a brief go before Dozzell was back at 5 at the end of the season.
