Am I right in thinking the pumps are yellow now? Some conflicting stuff online.

Presumably, also, there are 24/7 pre-authorisation pumps (pay at pump).

Was out there in May.

Most were yellow - you're looking for Gazoil. From memory, every station seemed to have pay at pump as standard.

They are if they’ve left their vest on it…

Also, when paying at the pump you have to select gazoil or B7 with your card details and if you pick up the incorrect pump it will not deliver petrol, a very good feature.

Oui mon ami. The pumps with pay at pump tend to be on the left at motorway service stations and supermarkets.

Fill up quickly after Calais as the motorway prices rise to 2.20 a litre from 1.85.

And if you haven’t got one get a sanef toll tag

Ooh, could you enlighten me as to the tag please?

A tag gets you through the toll booths without paying - you pay by direct debit at the end of the month.

There are designated lanes on the left with a ‘t’ and 30 which you can sail through at 30. The toll booths down south can be very busy - so it saves a lot of time and hassle (and saved faff with cash or card)

If you Google ‘sanef toll’ you’ll find the outfit that does it for UK drivers - based in Harrogate I think.

Ta, that's ideal.
