Cromer 13:38 - Aug 2 with 3319 views | unbelievablue | My mate is going this weekend with some friends and has booked a big AirBnB. He asked if I knew much about the place being from "the same County". After calming down I said I would ask around and let him know. So, any recommendations on pubs, restaurants and things to do would be most welcome.

Cromer on 13:42 - Aug 2 with 2711 views | chicoazul | I love Cromer. It’s very civilised nice and I enjoy it every time. It is also the last place I would go for a lads weekend (if indeed that’s what this is. It’s full of old people and very dull. I am a very boring person hence why I like it so much. I suppose the best local place to eat is the cafe that overlooks the pier. The pub that overlooks it is alright too. Decent fish and chips at the posh place at the end of the promenade. If he likes steam trains he can go to Sheringham. Marston Hall for a slap up meal.

Cromer on 13:46 - Aug 2 with 2684 views | ArnoldMoorhen | It's all about Fish and Chips on the pier. No.1 is best, it also has a cafe at Ground level and a posher restaurant on the First Floor. If they are too busy then Mary Jane's have been consistently good for years. I really like The Red Lion for food and drink. Day trip to Wroxham and hire a boat on the Broads would be my top tip.

Oh and the tide goes out a pretty long way, giving space for tennis ball beach cricket or football. Whisper it quietly, but for a lads holiday Norwich might have been a better bet. Loads of great pubs. That would make a good day out, and back by train.

I don't even let them buy me a drink unless they have at least 50% of their own teeth and a good private pension

Yes, the level crossing was more like Checkpoint Charlie.

Last time I was there with someone we had a mosey along the front, ate fresh crab and shrimps and hot fresh ringed donuts from the various huts dotted along there. A mess about in the sea and fish and chips in the evening followed a bit later by a few glasses of wine and one happy day all round. Just a pleasant place to be when the Sun is shining.

Cromer on 22:32 - Aug 2 with 1736 views | Deano69 | Wells by the sea worth venturing out to. Cromer is ok as a typical uk seaside resort, some good walking if your into that. The seals at Hinckley are pretty impressive but not a great deal else to do round there.

I’m with you on this. I love Cromer and always have. As a kid we used to go a lot and after a many decade break I took the misses there a few years ago (as an old bloke!). Still like it. Sheringham is nice too.
