Surely it’s a relatively minor gamble for the reasons you state - £1-2m is nothing to them and if it doesn’t pan out and they end up selling him for less then so be it |  |

The only one likely to happen is Fofana to Chelsea,
Hirst hasn't been included in the named squad, so it's more likely they're trying to find the best option for him, that may be us, that may be someone else
