Thought old Mick Mills was about to snap then on the phone in on 21:17 - Aug 27 by Nthsuffolkblue
That wasn't what MM was saying, though.
What he did say was that we didn't earn any corners for the first 60 minutes (or something like that) and that showed we weren't putting their defence under enough pressure as corners result from the defence being under pressure. The caller misinterpreted this as MM saying we should be looking to earn more corners. The caller then said that was wrong because we don't threaten from them anyway.
Ultimately MM was right and the caller didn't get the point he was making.
That was the way I understood what heard of it all anyway. The caller was a little too abrupt in his disagreement for me. Needed to listen a little more carefully to what MM was actually saying.
I thought he was actually very rude, and showed no respect to a real club legend, quite apart from spouting complete nonsense.

My thoughts were that the caller was young and enthusiastic and clearly wants Town to do well. However, this wasn't matched by their footballing knowledge, listening skills and being able to articulate a point. Mills did get a bit p1ssy with him, but couldn't really blame him. My take on it is that both parties love the Town. One is experienced, measured and insightful, the other was a little naive and over excited. Not really too much to see here.
Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Mick is a legend for sure, but the thought of him being a bit over excited brought me here:

yep, 2 ears, 1 mouth.... use them in that ratio. Nathan had his minute of fame though.

The point was if we're not winning corners it's because we aren't putting enough pressure on the opposition in the the final third. Attacking pressure forces desperate defending which results in high corner wins. He wasn't saying we should be winning corners to score more goals. He is of course totally correct and not sure how this point was missed? Why did the caller just labour on winning corners and scoring from corners? Why did some jumped up Herbert try and lecture Mick Mills on the basics of football? Embarrassing.

Yep. That caller didn't have a clue what point Mick was trying to make. Actually we were not very good first half. Had very few real opportunities to score. Barnsley matched us, closed down well and we looked lacking in final third of pitch. We only really looked good about five minutes before we made th subs. And when Norwood was on the pitch. He helped us a lot.
