We'll see over time, just looked technically a step down for me - he may be over thinking, adjusting to new team mates, or a million other factors - but just for as things stand if FL were to be injured I'd be worried

Come on Joe, you know better then to judge a player who has been here two weeks and played for not even half an hour.

This isn't Lambingo any more and he hasn't been bought in on a punt or just because he played well against us the other week. Remember we are now using data, stats, and the like and I would bet the due diligence will have been intense.

We have no other striker that plays like him and he will have his part to play in certain games I'm sure. I like the cut of his jib.

But I can't just make a judgement of what I've seen so far, I have judged him and that judgement will change as more evidence appears and hopefully is an uptick.

I do think he was a bit of a panic signing, when we were looking at likes of Hirst and Keane.....and the performance against us will probably have been biggest factor in his recruitment

I'm sure he'll prove a useful signing for us, and if he can contribute to games and grab 6-8 goals then it's a really good piece of business

I take your point and agree he did appear to be trying too hard and yes, he doesn't appear technically as good as others. However, as I said he offers us something different and nearly scored what would have been an excellent goal.

I just think it is far too early to judge him. Time will tell eh

It's a bit pointless though isn't it?

Any analysis made on two few data points in virtually any subject is pretty useless and we certainly don't have many data points for Ahadme town career.

In the same way people don't look at the league for the first 8 games or so it's probably good to withhold judgements on a new player until there is enough data to support an opinion.

I think he looked a big step down from Ladapo, which I guess is to be expected - but we are really reliant on FL staying fit, and starting to score a few goals

a step down from ladapo and a big one at that. just 20 mins at that blimey ,i like ladapo but how many shots did he have on target ? ahadme was unlucky not to score in 20 mins and most players need at least 10 mins to get into the game.

Possibly, who knows - I was just adding to the thread on the basis of a convo me and a mate were having towards back end of game when watching him last night - I wouldn't have started a thread about him though.

I thought I was bad, but this is, what on earth kind of post is this

He's played less than 30 minutes for us, still getting used to being at a bigger club, playing for a better manager and in a much better system than he would have been at Burton,

If he'd broken through last night when he was being held and banged one in the top bins, guarantee you'd be singing his phrases

Odd human you are

Damn who will be the one to break the news to him

I've not tried to escape the feeling he was a fallback option after more ambitious targets slipped away from us, but only my gut and doesn't mean he'll prove a bad signing even if the case. Some promising moments so far!

Agree. I didn’t see the Burton game so admittedly only going on first impressions (and his career to date) but he seemed to be all hustle and bustle and was caught offside a few times, unnecessarily. Can’t fault his effort but ironically there seemed to be similarities with Norwood and Bonne, who many obviously mocked.

It appears that whilst aiming higher, we’ve actually ended up a bit short in that position. I’d rather have taken Bonne once our main targets had gone. I’m still slightly concerned that we’re not clinical enough, as McKenna alluded to himself post match. Add a quality striker and I think we walk the league. I guess they’ll look to bring in someone else in Jan though.

Not sure how bonne 0 goals in half a season was the answer to us being more clinical this season tbh.

We also spent more time setting up against a freekick due to his offsides half the game.

I still Don't see that we need a better striker. As whilst you may get a more clinical striker. They may not be ablento do the other things that have actually helped us to win games and keep the goals against low.

a niche perspective

I didn’t say Bonne was the answer to us being more clinical. I said I’d rather have taken Bonne once our main targets had gone [instead of Ahadme].

McKenna obviously wanted a better striker, or we wouldn’t have tried for Hirst or Keane.

Hopefully we won’t need one but we haven’t played the top sides yet and my only concern is that we may not take our chances in tighter games when we create less. McKenna mentioned post match about how it’s an area to improve on because the top sides find a way to get the second goal earlier and kill the game in the first half.

Woolfenden is the obvious one. On his way out of the club when McKenna joined, now looks a rolls Royce defender at this level.

I'd say Donacien has massively developed too. Appreciate Cook brought him back into the team, but he's improved a lot since then.

Yeah I agree these two are probably the most improved. Donacien has continually said motives since Cook and Wolfenden is cutting out the mistakes and becoming the player he always promised to be. I don’t see a big improvement in others, we’re just better drilled and more cohesive as a team rather than significant increases in ability of individuals.
