I would. Its more important not to lose v our promotion rivals, losses are so damaging against them. Especially as we will beat a lot of the lesser sides outside the top 6.
Pompey are unbeaten and have already played the likes of Sheffield Wednesday, Peterborough, Plymouth and Barnsley. So a big ask to beat them. We are capable of course.
This thinking that we need to beat top 6 sides is silly, aslong as we don't lose many of them and we continue to beat the lesser sides then I'm happy.

Obviously not ffs. We want to make top 2 and we have enough about us for that to be realistic. Whether we do or not is another matter of course because we aren't necessarily the best side in the division... indeed, currently that's hard to argue, imo. But this is the third division and it's Pompey not Man City, and we have decent players and the setup is getting there.

A win is preferable. A defeat is catastrophic. A draw is more than acceptable. All in my opinion.
At least with a draw, Portsmouth don't get three points and we retain the status quo. |

To be fair they were robbed at Wednesday first game, like we were. And Plymouth at home. I saw their highlights v Plymouth and the ball went over the line and the player handled it to prevent a goal should have been 2 nil and a red card for pafc.

It’s about time an Ipswich Town team turned up for these big games and bloody well WIN it. I’ve watched this club in so many big, must win, games over the last 50 years, and it pains me to say it, but we rarely do the business.

I know what you mean. And I don't think a draw would be the disaster that it would be made out to be.. But we should definitely go looking for all 3 points, at home, to anyone in this division.. I was really confident about this one a week ago. But recent results have put a bit of an edge on this game, now, for me. Probably just a hangover from last week.. If we play well we should beat Pompey.

Not at all. Mick Mills constantly makes this point. In 1981 we beat Villa home and away in the league yet still became runners up. In 2000 we beat Charlton home and away. They were champions and we had to settle for the play offs.
Beating fellow promotion rivals is great and I’d love us to win tomorrow. But a draw is more than ok, as even though we only get the one point, so do our rivals. We then have to beat the lesser teams.
The most important thing tomorrow is that we don’t lose. |  |
