Few years back we were getting 9,000 for a Tuesday night game!

In January 2019? Three months after having been appointed?

His press conference prior to the Burton game, first game following the relegstion. It was quite telling how frustrated he was.

Yes, exactly that early. Like I say, very easy to pontificate about all the deep structural problems with a football club when it's obvious you're a goner. There's no job to lose and it's a handy excuse for your own failings.

But it must have been obvious to Lambert what a shambles the club was more or less as soon as he arrived. It would have been clear pretty quickly that Evans had no intention of fixing anything. It needed calling out and not saying anything for 3 years, whilst picking up the biggest wage of any manager in the division, is deeply unimpressive to me.

He may have been content picking up his wages while staying quiet. But the players were no different. Happy to pick up their wages while not putting a real effort on the pitch. Ipswich under Evans was an easy payday for them as he didn't care at all about our fortunes on the pitch.

Cambridge almost sold 1,900. Their review of the game on the cufc official site said they brought 5,000 fans back in 1991. Crowd was only 20,000 so not sure that’s accurate even if you could cram a lot of fans in the north stand pens

The only time I can remember us being outsung. Fair play to them that day.

“THIS IS WHAT WE WISHED FOR” - large Blue Action banner at last home game of the season, promotion having been wrapped up a few weeks earlier.

I pray nightly for this to become a reality. Please, football gods, let it be.
