Yes. I also tried Better Call Saul ages ago but couldn't get into it (although I think I only watched a couple of episodes from memory).

Second best, just behind The Sopranos though they both suffer from not enough Olive in them.

You might need more than a couple of weeks for The Sopranos though.

No idea when I began here, was a very long time ago. Previously known as Spirit_of_81. Love cheese, hate the colour of it, this is why it requires some blue in it.

I watched the first episode of the wire and couldn't understand a bloody thing.

I also then decided to use subtitles but haven't got round to it, I think I'm destined not to ever see it.

When I was a wealthy man I thought I could semi retire and in-between going to the pub I watched every Frasier episode back to back (263 of them).

The Wire is absolutely brilliant - don’t disagree that it is challenging to understand what is said on occasions, and Mrs E2S cannot put up with the profanity, but I watched it on a series of international flights and thought it was amazing

I don’t know if it is better than the Sopranos because I haven’t watched that - yet…

You cannot go wrong with either. They are 2 of the best TV shows ever produced... if not THE 2 best TV shows ever produced.

If I were forced to rank them, I would put The Sopranos at No. 1. Whilst the Wire hits higher heights than the Sopranos (arguable, this is my opinion), it never has a duff Season. The final season of the Wire can easily be skipped. It is a caricature of its former self with all the gritty realism jettisoned for a frankly absurd plotline.

I was about to suggest that a series where the 1970s crew of 'On The Buses' are directed by Blakey into The Hood for a new bus route would be good but I think we know how that would end up regarding language that is no longer acceptable and the subsequent slaughter...
