The Wire was amazing when if first came out. It has dated though. If you watch it now it is like watching a period drama.

I’ve watched the Wire twice now. It’s a great series but for me the Sopranos shades it. Probably for its dark comedy and variety of characters. [Post edited 27 Mar 2023 9:51]

I'm now four episodes into series 1 of Gomorrah (no spoilers, please).
Two things so far.
1) I thought Italy was meant to be nice (although I suppose you don't usually see the rough parts of Naples on travel programmes).
