So according to Diego Forlan, sorry Gobby Logan on 12:23 - Nov 25 with 1503 views | berkstractorboy | And Williams says Page or players not to blame?? Erm so who was? Page took players who were unfit, not match ready etc and it showed with Bale, Ramsey and Allen. The players just weren't good enough on the day but I think they are better as a squad so there is some blame with the players for just not performing.

The players are definitely better than they showed there. They didn’t have an identity, defensive shape seemed non-existent with a huge hole in the middle, and they weren’t on the same page going forward. Mostly a setup/coaching problem for me and then lack of individual quality on top. Really poor. What’s the record WC score? England could have a good crack at it in the last group match.

If England win tonight (and that is a big if), I can see us playing a lot of the squad in the final match, Wales really lifting their game and beating us. As much as Iran deserved the win, it was level until the final minutes of injury time and Wales had a couple of chances to score. Although we put 6 past them, Iran scored 2 against us as well.

It was level, but who was the team creating the chances, who hit the post twice, who caused a sending off with their attacking intent. I only saw Davies with the chance otherwise it was all Iran in terms of chances. I think England will be very up for that and playing others in the squad means who, Grealish, Foden, Maddison. Yes please I say!!! Those players will be hungry to prove they should start if we reach the KO. Wales need to lift it some huge effort from today and I can't see they have the fitness levels to do that.

Moore had a couple of chances while I was watching. Yes, Iran created more but my point was they didn't take those chances until right at the end and, had Wales taken a chance, they might have won it (albeit against the overall run of play). Hennessey making a massive error played a big part in them losing too.

Out of reach I suspect but it's probably the last Tournament for this golden generation of Welsh players I guess they've had their place in the sun at previous tournaments, bless 'em!

True, and they could have nicked it and football can be very unjust. Even if they did there is night and day between that and how England played and didn't allow Iran to play as they did today. As has been said, centre mid was a key area and Wales lost out there and I don't see how they can change to dominate Rice and Bellingham. Set up for a cracking last match though, but Wales having to attack to get goals might just be the best thing for England.

It would have been an absolute travesty if Wales took anything from that. They were terrible and you can’t turn up to world cups as bad as they have been.
So according to Diego Forlan, sorry Gobby Logan on 13:34 - Nov 25 with 1137 views | Superblue95 | Wales looked awful. I find it odd that they play with wing backs when both Neco Williams and Connor Roberts are both such dreadful players that don’t seem to suit that system. Ramsey has looked so poor too. Ampadu was basically the only midfielder second half.

And them continuing to play it out from the back never worked; if you have Moore up top why not just kick it long to him and work the knock-downs?
