In praise of Apple after sales service 10:40 - Dec 6 with 1110 views | GlasgowBlue | This time last year I bought my 14 year old daughter an iPad from apple for Christmas. As she is very careless with her devices, I took out the apple care plan which was three quid. month and covered her for accidental damage etc. Anyway, she has damaged her screen. Completely gubbed. So I took the iPad into the local apple store on Sunday and expected to activate the care plan to get a replacement, only to be told that the iPad hadn't been covered since June. In June the card I had purchased the iPad with had been cloned and my card provider sent out a new card. At that same time sapple tried to take out the monthly payment and the guy in the apple store showed me an email from apple informing me that the payment could not be processed. So this is completely my own fault as I get loads of emails from apple and rarely open them. The cost of the repair/replacement would be just under three hundred quid but it would be worth phone apple support to see if they could do anything. So I called apple yesterday and got a call back from somebody informing me that unfortunately I could not make retrospective payments to reactivate the care plan. However, he could issue a one off code to help with the replacement cost.I was expecting a toke fifty quid or so. When I asked how much, he said for the full amount. That isn't the first time I've had a positive outcome from apple after sales.

I've had my iPhone 11 (I think) since launch and it got to the point after a couple of years where there wasn't a lot wrong with the hardware, other than the battery life being so poor. They replaced it for me in a very speedy fashion and at a very reasonable cost, it's still going strong now.

Don’t get me wrong, Mrs Cs Samsung stuff has been excellent too and the Surface Pro I had with work was a brilliant bit of kit so I have no problem with other tech providers. However, Apple gear gets my vote for its ease/intuitiveness and quality.

Yep. I'm on an XS and wouldn't need anything else. Must be 4 yrs old and works like new. I've got 2 27" iMacs too - both 10 yrs old and, again, as good as new. The only thing they wouldn't be able to handle would be high res gaming. As office machines they're superb and I've gone through about 3 work PCs/laptops in the same time.
