I don't think we've ever gone 'out' for him. We've held a candle for him for over 12 months, as you know!

Longer than that, Paul Lambert wanted to sign him and we’ve looked every window since

Indeed. I had no idea he was 6ft 4" until recently. I didn't remember him having quite such an on-field presence. He would be a magnificent complement to Ladapo.

Is he a midfielder or a striker? Seen him described as both

We’ve been after him on multiple occasions, including during KMc time here so somebody on our radar no doubt.

Needs to kickstart his career again, not progressed how I thought he would after his brilliant spell at Lincoln.

Certainly would take him, would be a strong addition.

Has he played any football at all since 22 January? If not, why not? If he has, presumably it is in the Premier League reserves and how has he done?

This write-up makes him sound a useful player (although it is potentially biased). https://www.mancity.com/players/morgan-rogers

I can't see any mention of him playing any football since he fell out of favour at Bournemouth while on loan in their promotion season. His last appearance for them was 22 January.

Not played a minute of football this season and 1 goal in 15 games for Bournemouth last year!

YES PLEASE!

This explains the situation at Bournemouth and shows he actually played very little competitive football at all last season as well as apparently playing none so far this one.

He is a very good player, most probably out of our reach. Assuming you’ve never seen him play because we won’t get the chance to sign many better players in his position whilst we’re in this league.

We tried to sign him in January 2021 but he opted to go to Lincoln instead. There were rumours about interest this summer but if there were they didn't go very far and didn't hear many encouraging noises from the club.

He’s been injured for the majority..and was out of favour for a Bournemouth side who were promoted to the premier league?

Indeed. So he had a good season for Lincoln in League 1, wasn't good enough for Bournemouth in a promotion season in the Championship and has since been injured.

How confident are we that we would get the Morgan Rogers that Lincoln had or better? If he is fully fit, can get up to match fitness quickly and is still as good, fair enough, but it would be more of a gamble than signing a top player from a rival who is just recovering from injury (cf Camara who some are now questioning).

Anyone else think we are going to make a signing that none of else thought could happen in league 1. I've just got this feeling we are going to blow this league apart from the end of January onwards.

Thanks for the replies to my post.

If we were to sign him I'd of course trust KmcK's judgment.

I think we have consistently tried to do that since GameChanger arrived. The important thing is to make sure we get one or two that are good enough in the door. If we then get someone even better bonus.

Bournemouth had a £12m buy option when they initially loaned him off the back of being one of the best players in the division aged 18 at Lincoln, alongside Brennan Johnson.

He's not had a great 18 months for his development but is still only 20. He's a similar mould to John-Jules in terms of profile. A highly thought of player with a high ceiling who has had an injury and a loan spell which in hindsight wasn't right for him. We are really missing JJ at the moment as an option.

Is that the same Bournemouth side that decided they didn’t think much of Leif Davis?
