Any more signings? Or do we think we have done for the season? 10:32 - Jan 11 with 11085 views | itfcpaul | What are your thoughts about whether we need more signings and if so, in which areas of the pitch, or has anyone any rumours about possible incomings?

Any more signings? Or do we think we have done for the season? on 08:59 - Jan 12 by itfcjoe | [sarcasm mode on] You must have seen it, when he left he put a picture of himself scoring a goal......but it was against Ipswich! It can't have been just a good photo he stumbled across, or the best one of him celebrating - it was very clear a dig against Ipswich........ [sarcasm mode off] |
That's the only thing I could think of! Overreact much lol

Any more signings? Or do we think we have done for the season? on 11:15 - Jan 12 by itfcpaul | I agree but Burns and Jackson have now worked with KMc for a year now and I think we have what we have with them under those conditions, so I am just suggesting changing the conditions, maybe a fee/loan might not cost too much. How about the chap who has just been sent back from Pompey? |
He's poor though, and is nowhere near Wes Burns level, and had been playing on the left for them. Burns has been superb for us, even whilst not hitting heights of last season part of that is because we now have Davis on the other side and are much more balanced

Any more signings? Or do we think we have done for the season? on 11:36 - Jan 12 by greyhound | It's surprised me that Jackson has lasted as long as he has here. He's never pulled up trees, but performs at a fairly consistent average level, and while I agree with Joe that we can't just keep buying replacements, spending spiraling amounts of money, I can't help but feel this season will probably be his last before we get a more targeted like for like play to interchange with burns. Jacksons days as a cf definately seem done now. Meanwhile I would expect we may move a couple on in this window especially if we bring another in, i don't have a clue what the wages of the 3 brought in are but financial balance must be being spoken about you would think. |
Jackson is a players/managers player - works so hard, is an incredible presser and does everything for his team mates on the pitch. McKenna uses him as a chess piece now really, he simply hasn't been a 9 for a while and it is only the injuries/missed recruitement that has seen him remian. I think he's one that will do bits and pieces for us in the Championship as seemingly happy to play a squad role and a player that McKenna uses in nearly every game

Spot on. It's just not true that Burns has been poot this season. Far from it. You make an excellent point that Davis' emergence has reduced Burns productivity simply by the fact hat we go down down both flanks. I was going to write something similar in Jackson as well. He is a managers dream. He's content with his role as a squad player, is no hassle and and works his socks of in any task. He's not got the ability of others technically but he has some really useful attributes. Fergie at Utd always had players like that at United e.g. could trust them to do certain jobs: Think Quintin Fortune... ...if still love Edwards to get a run of games. But Burns rightly has the shirt.
