What was the last ‘big game’ we won? 12:23 - Feb 7 with 5043 views | hatch | Thinking about those important games in sold out stadiums such as Plymouth and Sheff Weds. I can’t recall the last time we won a hyped up game. Loosely the Derby home win but I think we were still expected to win that. Arguably even a win tonight would be the first ‘surprise win’ for a long long time. | | | | |

What was the last ‘big game’ we won? on 13:24 - Feb 7 by Ewan_Oozami | Maybe a couple of summary executions will do the job then, pour encourager les autres? |
In 1805 the French fleet was ordered to leave Toulon, meet up with the Spanish and to defeat the English navy as a prelude to invasion. As the fleet sailed, the local head honcho had a guillotine set up on the quayside. He then emptied the local prisons and executed them ‘pour encourager Les autres’. Didn’t work so well, given what happened at Trafalgar. As a proscript, the French Admiral (Pierre-Charles Villeneuve) was released by the British after the defeat, but committed suicide. Six stab wounds to the chest, one to the heart. Echos of when happens to people that annoy Putin these days. Anyway for me yesterday was as important a win as we’ve had since we’ve been in this awful league. Not just the result, but the way in which we played and the context of the match. It was seriously good. [Post edited 12 Mar 2023 7:52]
