I saw a couple of comments along the lines of, "Ipswich have won 6 on the bounce, yes, but 4 of them were against lower opposition eg FGR"

Thought that was a bit cheeky given their last couple of results!

I think we're certainly allowed a wry smile at Wednesday's last couple of results.

But equally, it's fair to evaluate the strength of form. Trying to work out how we'll do against Derby or Barnsley away is not easy, basing one's prediction on how we've done against Accrington or Burton at home, say. We can afford to be very confident given our recent improvement and off-the-chart stats. But it's a fair point to assess form on its own merits. We don't have a great record of wins against the top teams, but of course the Bolton result is cause for optimism.

'It was only FGR....oh wait'.

I think it's a fair point tbh, beating the sides in and around the top has been our achilles heel for some time. 1 point from Plymouth, 2 from Wednesday (although we were robbed away). 1 off Barnsley (robbed again) with the away game to come. We deservedly beat Derby at home and Bolton away, the latter was one of our best performances of the season and one that's given me encouragement. If we can go to Derby, Peterborough, Barnsley and win a couple of those, and remain ruthless in the home games then we'll have a sniff.

Obviously a win against Derby would be brilliant, but can you imagine how much of a statement a win to nil would be?!

On the flip side, we have only lost 1 game in 8 to a deflected goal at Plymouth. If we can get 5 or 6 points out of Derby, Peterborough and Barnsley then I reckon we will do it!
