Am I right in thinking that MM has never been relegated as a manager, if so, I was wondering if this could have been his reasoning for leaving Blackpool

He was in charge of Millwall in their relegation season in 95-96 but had them safely in mid-table (after previously being top) when he left to take the Ireland job.

He went to Sunderland and oversaw their relegation in what was a hopeless cause. Two years later, he left before another relegation was confirmed. The same thing pretty much happened at Wolves as well.

I notice their last game is away at Norwich. Could have been quite an afternoon one way or another.

Yep, he always jumps ship/ gets sacked when it's already on the cards to keep this going.

Sunderland, Wolves, Cardiff and Blackpool now.

It's almost like he manages clubs that are underfunded and can't keep them up forever.

Most managers leave clubs when they are doing badly more frequently than when they are doing well.
