Filbert Street was the same.

Wasn't a bad away end from what I remember. A bit like our old North. Could generate some good noise in there too.

Luton also came one season away from being part of the inaugral Prem season.

Suppose they are technically founder members, as they had a vote, but never played in Premiership/Premier League.

They deserve this promotion. The best part is all the entitled, billy big Bollox clubs will hate going to Kennilworth road.

If you’ve never been to Luton, it’s an experience. You literally feel like you’re walking through someone’s back bedroom to get into the stand , up done metal (fire escape type steps), “unbelievable Geoff”!

Bet their admin enjoyed posting this tweet.

Although the players like Haaland don’t have go into the ground through that sh1tty entrance.

They have to go in via a different sh1tty entrance just around the corner.

Come on the Luton

Turnstiles are OK but the route into the stand is surreal and the view, especially from the front, is terrible.

Luton’s ground is a ghastly hole. Always has been. Luton - dreadful place. Their football: Wimbledon/Cambridge United hoof.

But what a story. All the way from the Conference in nine years. That’s some achievement. Congratulations to them.

Their ground is a proper old fashioned one in the middle of Bury Park, a very diverse, but deprived area of the town.

It’s not a dreadful place, grounds like Readings are ghastly to me anyway

The only issue is the disabled area was at the back and barely raised so, when the fans at the front stood, they couldn't really follow the game.

Mind you, I'm not sure where the disabled area is for the away fans at Portman Road? Is it alongside the home one?

It’s an old fashioned dump. The first time I went was in 1974. We sat in the apology of a main stand. 13 pillars between us and the pitch. I was there in 82 for the Cup game. Two narrow streets for you to be chased up and down. In the late 70s I went quite a few times with a Luton supporting school chum of mine.

Nobody bothered with taking darts, coins or snooker balls. The terrace could be heeled up and provided plenty of ammo to chuck at opposition supporters or the players - as the Leeds fans did at the Luton goalie one game. He was dancing around like a cowboy in a western having his feet shot at.

Decrepit, unpleasant place with a decrepit unpleasant little ground. Stadiums like Reading’s are ghastly for completely different reasons. I’m not a fan of flat pack new grounds and that includes Coventry’s but there comes a time when there is really no alternative but to replace them. Last resort stuff, but ask anyone who follows Sunderland if it was a good thing to replace Roker Park and the vast majority will say yes.

Just my opinion.

One of the rules I’d change if I was of football is reverting back to one toss at penalty shootouts.

If you win, you either decide the end or the order. Yes, I know there are two tosses etc. and it’s the same for both teams.

(Other rules I’d implement include banning teams playing in Yellow & Green, a football banning order for Chris Sutton. forcefully removing anyone wearing a half and half scarf, and one bonus point per week in each league for whichever team has the best celebration)
