my first Season Ticket 03:32 - Jun 24 with 3230 views | guestlinger | Hi all, Ive recently purchased my first Season Ticket and wondered what I will recieve when. Do I receive a book of tickets or a season ticket card. How does it work with cup games - will I get offered early option to buy tickets. Just asking as excited for the 23/24 season to start. I went to about 10 home games last season with a drive up from Dover but missed games at the end of the season due to sell outs
my first Season Ticket on 08:19 - Jun 24 with 3000 views | Fixed_It | You will get a season card, which usually arrives late July. Think you get priority for cup games which aren't included. Enjoy!

my first Season Ticket on 10:12 - Jun 24 with 2802 views | Meadowlark | Welcome aboard. I think this could be an exciting ride. Yes, you get a plastic card that is scanned at the turnstile. Yes, you get first dibs for cup games. Usually arrives end of July, but guess it might be a bit later this season as 1st home game is not until 12th August. And, if you cannot make it to a match, apparently you can ask the club to send you an emailed replacement ticket which you can "£ransfer" to a mate!

I got an Ipswich themed teasmade (yes I also thought it was spelt ‘teasmaid’) When the tea was ready it would pipe out ‘singing the blues’ and a big light would come on

Can anyone confirm the ability to transfer tickets? I have my first season ticket since '92/'93 (!) and my brother would like to use if I can't go. Handing over my ST card to him isn't really an option.

Yes for each game the season card can effectively switched off and a digital or print at home ticket generated by the club instead which can be emailed to you and you would be able to forward on to your brother. Very easy to do, ticket office always very helpful at quick with such requests.

my first Season Ticket on 14:54 - Jun 25 with 1876 views | guestlinger | thanks all for the helpful comments. My father used to bring me to Portman Road frequently when I was a kid during the late seventies / early eighties so fond memories of arriving at noon to get to the front with a milk crate to stand on to see. Moved around the UK but always take the time to watch the Town if there are playing nearby. Now I'm closer (2 hr drive away) I'm keen to see how the ST experience works for me

My first ST in the late 80s was a little buff coloured book of tickets, with each opponent and then Cup 1 / Cup 2 / Cup 3 printed on them. But the club changed to a book of numbers in around 1990-91, and it was random number every week, the reason being I think that people were buying STs, and then simply dividing the tickets up between themselves.... whereas a random number system at least meant you had to take the ST to the ground. The numbers were displayed on a magnetic board above the turnstile, and the gatemen never took them in. Some individuals I was acquainted with used to take them down for them - usually on the way home from Hollywoods on a Thursday night. So if the Portman Stand gatemen wondered why their stock of numbers was getting low, it was because they were on the bedroom radiators of various sixth formers in the Ipswich area.
