The mere possibility of flooding in the Thames becomes a national disaster but in contrast, say, the 2007 floods in Hull, which damaged 10,000 properties, received virtually no publicity at all.

To be fair there was a special program the other day on the BBC about the Felixstowe flooding. OK that did occur in 1953 so only 70 years late, but still ......
