Absolutely we don't need to hire quantity. It's the 2-3 Ashton mentioned really. But they need to be quality.
We shouldn't overpay so it will be tricky but we can't rest on our laurels here. We've been brilliant but 9 points flatters us slightly. That extra 2-3% in quality really tips the balance for us and could be the difference to us for by 3-4 positions come Jan. | |

The key word is "strengthen".... There won't be many players out there, within our budget, that will actually "strengthen" our squad.... Can see us maybe bringing in a loan or two at best for now... Maybe keep our powder dry for January window, or next summer.
By January, we would have played everyone, and have a greater insight into this division and how far our existing squad can take us. Therefore, a clearer picture, with more info, before gambling $$$. |  | | |

I think we will sign an experienced right sided central defender as cover, having missed out on our younger targets. And dismissing sentimentality, I think we may move Ladapo on and sign sonme direct competition for Hirst. | |

CB and Striker minimum. Someone to goe toe to toe with Hirst. I would still either now or in Jan have Hirst + 2 new strikers. One in similar mould but upgrade on Ladapo (who I like but being ruthless we can upgrade) and one with different skillset (E.g. a Dane Scarlett).
I think McKenna does want another for behind the front man e.g. Rak Sakyi. If being super greedy another midfielder and Humphreys a season loan.
All our players are good and really likeable so its hard and horrible to contemplate replacing/upgrading. But if you apply our thinking last year (I e. Signing with one eye on division above) and apply that lens then you can see clearly we will have to do it at some point if that is to be our ambition. | |
