Currently a 5pt gap to PNE in 3rd 21:29 - Oct 4 with 5566 viewsMullet

If we make it 8pts on Saturday that puts massive daylight between us and the pack. Feels like Saturday takes on a different dimension than when PNE were above us. It's weird how real this season is getting so early.

This is the thing that is beginning to make me think that we might just do it this year. Our form would have to drop below anything it's been since the turn of the year for us to miss out on the P/O's and I just don't think that's going to happen. I do believe that we are too good a team to average 1.5pts a game for long.

Every game we win or draw just takes a bit more the pressure off the rest of the season.

it's so hard not to get carried away

we've lost what 3 games in 2023?

We'd have to lose 4 games in a row to drop out of current top 6 at the moment.

We've had an extra day of rest, also home game for us, they have had an exhaustive run around at Leicester, to then get home for a day and then travel down here.

We should be putting them to the sword.

Southampton probably thought the same when they were at home on the Friday and we were in Sheffield on the Saturday, then back home and straight to their place midweek.

On this point, I listened to Rowe give an interview on Five Live recently (maybe the day we played Wednesday but that's irrelevant) and he said when they have back-to-back away games midweek-weekend that the players vote if they return back to the North-West and travel again, or stay somewhere centrally between the two fixtures.

Not sure how common place that is, but thought it was an interesting snippet.

Yeah, but we're Ipswich, not PNE.
