Annoying as I was oddly looking forward to a solo trip up there!

Will Phil and Gav have a night off, if the winds are moderating from 8pm?

According to the news story, you seem to be right.

To me, this is going to end one of two ways

1. We lose as ball gets stuck in or one of our players falls over in the mud.

Or

2. We go 3 up at half time, game gets abandoned.

I'm now reminded of this classic:

Town 3-0 Leicester City 18th Dec 2010 19:50
First half goals from Jason Scotland (2) and David Norris saw Town to a 3-0 home victory over Leicester and ended their six-game league losing run. Heavy snow started to fall around an hour before kick-off and continued throughout the game with the players taken off for a 14-minute spell in the second half while the pitch was cleared. 0

Safe travels to all going tonight. I think it's a poor, poor decision for it to go ahead, do not underestimate the chaos in the area due to flooding and the rain continues to pour down.

I'll just be sticking to my plan unless I hear otherwise. If I get up to Rotherham and it's called off then so be it. If you're travelling by train be aware that Rotherham central station is currently closed due to flooding.

Safe travels.

Safe travels too. Driving up.

The statement from Rotherham seems odd; biblical floods all around them and they’re like “no, it’s fine, everything’s fine”.

Amber warning and heavy rain predicted all day leading up to the game. Does the Rotherham Grand Canal run directly below the stadium for all the excess water to flow into it something? They have some real explaining to do if this match gets called off.

They don’t want to be embarrassed on the very slim possibility that they postpone it at midday and then the sun is out come 7.45

Sunset in Rotherham tonight is 6pm so it it comes out at 7:45pm I will assume an alien invasion has started.

It's unlikely to be called off.

Which is unfortunate as I am gonna be sat in Row A right at the front.

Me too. It'll be boots and waterproof trousers (if I can find them!)

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

As I've said elsewhere, I can't see it being called off for the simple reason that it's on Sky.

Sky won't want to have to rearrange things and, as an added bonus, they'll be eyeing the additional Now TV revenue from those who either can't get to the ground or who have decided to stay away because of the weather.

The only reasons I can see it being called off would be because the pitch is unplayable, or the players can't get to the stadium.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.

He was quite right though. Although the wind speed was up to hurricane strength, albeit only just, it was not a hurricane. Hurricanes are tropical storms with winds rotating around a central core, or eye, with exceptionally intense rainfall. 87J had none of those characteristics - it was simply a bloody great big extra-tropical low.

This reminds me of the incident with Owen. "The show must go on," they said - and it did.

It's triple cheese, extra cheese, mayo, pickles, onions ONLY, large fry, with a Sprite, you dumb bitch!

Feel for any of you planning the trip north, but I think I'd prefer it to be called off, rather than play a team like Rotherham on a mud patch.

At least it's not foggy like at Oxford! Weather appears to be our only credible opponent these days?

I was going. Finish at 12 on a Friday, so was going to drive up straight from work. Have kept an eye on the weather and what some of the locals on here have been saying. Sadly decided not to risk it. Fingers crossed it goes ahead for those going.
Good luck to all those travelling and stay safe.

I'd be absolutely amazed if it went ahead, even at this hour - from a fan safety perspective.

I live in Leeds and we're underwater. I might swim to Rotherham if the game goes ahead, otherwise it's a 4:48 and an 11pm rail replacement bus.
