Both had solid Championship spells in their careers after Town.
But the obvious answer is Jordan Rhodes.
Apparently we couldn't possibly have a home grown young bustling forward (Connor Wickham) and a young Fox-in-the-box striker playing alongside each other, so had to sell one, and then the other shortly after, and spunk the combined funds on a succession of mercenaries and can't be arseders.

Kyle Edwards? Given plenty of opportunity here to kick on, imo. Especially last season when we were short on numbers.. Lacks consistency, which is a manager's (and team mates ) nightmare. Greg Leigh? At 29years old and dropping down a division to get regular first team football. Hardly a player that fell through the net... Dobra? Now playing non league?
El Miz, is an unfortunate one, atm.. Looks to be improving nicely at LO. And would be an ideal addition to our L1 squad, or even a Championship Squad But, should we get promoted. I'm not sure he'd feature much in a Prem' squad.. So could be one that goes on to have a decent Champ/L1 career.. Although I'd like to see us have a really good look at him again through the Summer, before he got moved on..Just in case he's stepped up enough to give KM a real decision to make..
I have complete trust in KM and his staff to identify what we need, and whether or not he can bring that out of any youngsters trying to push through. It would be great to have 6 or 7 academy players in the first team squad. But that is a rare thing, at any level in the game..... Even the cream of the crop, we'll have to accept losing them at some point.

Where do you even begin with that one, a massive question.
I am going to go with a left field answer and say Dean Bowditch. After he left us he became a very neat player in different roles (and a very different player to what we saw) to the point when he came back up to the Championship with MK Dons he looked their best player by a mile, if we had the forsight to use him like they did we would have had a very good player on our books. He did score something like 80 goals after leaving us, albeit in the league below, but a record better than some of the crud we spent money on after his release!

He was with us as a young player and wasn’t quite good enough for us, especially once we went up.
A year or two later we’d been relegated again and had dropped down to his level. He could have had a long career with us if he’d been three years younger.

Louis Barry was awful for us. Too big a jump too quickly.
For some reason I have a vivid memory of reading the paper whilst doing a poo and seeing that the top three league 1 scorers were Brett Pittman, Kieffer Moore and Jack Marriott. Marriott and Moore especially went on to have pretty decent careers after moving on from us.

He had too many chances to impress.
