Johnson on record saying “let it rip” with Covid 13:55 - Dec 7 with 2441 viewsElderGrizzly

And that the old could be sacrificed because “they’d had a good innings”

He of course lied about saying it and was then proven to be the liar we all know he is over the next 5 minutes.

The entire inquiry should have Del Amitri’s “nothing ever happens” playing as its soundtrack. We all know Johnson and Hancock are lying bastards and we all know precisely nothing will happen to them. Zero consequences.

As someone who was at the sharp end, this whole inquiry has been incredibly upsetting for me(I believe the young people actually call it 'triggering') to the point that I've had to actively turn over radio/TV news, mute webpages and generally skim over discussions of it because they can (and DO) seriously affect my ability to function for the day if I dip back into the whole affair for too long.

I've been getting help for this, but it's a long road.

I cannot imagine how it has been for some of the people who lost relatives, friends or colleagues who've been brave enough to attend this.

All these incompetent, corrupt, bigoted criminals should have the key thrown away on them.

I'm going back to Glassers' music thread now.

How there isn’t a criminal trial after all this is beyond me

That was precisely what I was about to type. The level of accountability for our politicians is an absolute joke. Why aren't people more angry?

Possibly because the endless stream of sheer f**kery from this lot is just so EXHAUSTING. Particularly when there are STILL dimwitted turdstains who'll happily turn out to defend them because 'but Labour'.

Keep going for the help mate. You will get there. I had PTSD years ago; as you say it's a long road which will eventually mean you can think about it without feeling the pain.

I watch Johnson and think about the unfitness of our system for holding awful politicians like him to account and I start to wonder whether mob justice is really such a bad thing after all.

And the saying is, it's not the politicians that have the power, it's the people.

My intention was to watch Johnson and Hancock’s ........’efforts’, but as will be deduced from my post the other day I’ve had other priorities. I did though late last night try and catch up with some of it. I couldn’t watch it. Seeing Johnson sitting there smug as can be, lying through his teeth, amnesia first line of defence made me feel sick. Contemptible sack of sh1t.

I can’t imagine how difficult it must be for those working in the healthcare service to see this mug and his oily mates dribbling away while filling their boots with £. As for people who lost relations, god knows. It’s beyond difficult when you can see loved ones and other patients and relations suffering. Seeing them through a sheet of glass or not at all? That’s before the unnecessary deaths. Jeez. And much of it was avoidable.

But to do the right thing to minimise the human cost and suffering of these people, you need a government that is competent, takes responsibility and cares. Fat zero out of three then.

Let it rip’’natures way of getting rid of old people’ etc. The only words I can express without breaching bad language rules is that Johnson and his crowd disgust me. I agree whole heatedly with you, Herbivore’s and other’s sentiments on what should happen to these creatures.

As the news discussed the inquest into the head teacher driven to suicide by Ofsted, I actually thought there isn't any OffParliament and thought no, there wouldn't be, would there?

Johnson appears to try the tack "I was repeating what others have said." He is a compulsive liar.

He's like a little schoolboy who's been caught out copying his history homework (or 'prep' to etonians) from Uncle Bill's Book of the Kings And Queens of England.

I was expecting Hugh Keith KC to go 'Well Johnson. Cat got your tongue? GET OUT! GO TO THE HEADMASTER'S STUDY IMMEDIATELY. And on top of whatever punishment he gives you, you're to write me 3,000 words on The Dangers of Plagiarism.

I feel the whole process is a very large waste of money. Nothing that comes out of it will lead to anyone suffering any consequences. If you notice, eveyrone is blaming everyone else and all saying this should have happened earlier and that should have happened earlier. Whatever should have happened and when the Country was ill prepared as with everything. If we have a draught we are short of water, if there's heavy rain then people are flooded out. A couple of snowflakes, the sort that comes from the sky, everything grinds to a halt. So why should we expect anything to change. We are all paying higher taxes, partly due to the astronomical waste of poor PPE, Companies that claimed furlough such as the big Bookmakers who furloughed shop staff and went on to make many more millions through online betting. Also paying back last years fuel payments the Government gave via gas and electricity suppliers . The Government as such don't have any money, they rely on income from taxes, therefore this was in fact a short term loan that everyone, except those on benefits are now paying back.

Yep. As he’s done before on various other things. Seeing that clip reminded me what a mendacious arsehole he is. As with others, I find it frustrating they don’t actually get held to account. Him especially.

Cummings actually comes out pretty well from today’s exchange, interestingly. Valance paints him as someone who was always trying to get Johnson to see sense.

I'm not sure that the solution to corrupt criminal weasels refusing to be held to account is saying 'OK, we'll hold you to even less account'.

Lest we forget, Cummings was a) the weasel who got Johnson where he was and b) a major proponent of the whole 'the rules don't count if it's us' mentality of the government.
