The winner is somebody on the Leicester forum who said they caught ten minutes (yes a whole ten minutes out of about 1900 this season) of our game and we are bang average.
After garnering a fair amount of respect on the Foxes forum, it seems things are turning on there. Several of them saying that we have a wafer thin squad that will be found out and they can't believe such a poor side is above them. |
That really is pathetic - some fan that forgot his side have a game in hand when we're 2 points above them?!

Worst Championship ever? The top four teams are all worthy of promotion! Leicester has a strong squad, Leeds love them or hate them have a fantastic side, Southampton are a strong side, then you have Sunderland, West Brom and even Preston challenging, it’s bloody incredible and Norwich have massively underachieved. The last time we were in the Championship when they won it, was the weakest the division ever was, so much so our relegation took a age to be official despite us doing absolutely nothing for months! |  | | |

Football fans are really odd sometimes.
What did they expect? Us to come and dominate them.at their home ground. I'm not sure we've really done that away most of the season.

The media have been full of praise for the way we play, as have most neutrals I’ve spoken to. Just a few internet edgelords, but Leeds seem to have more than most. Think a lot of the recent Prem sides are starting to get a bit salty about us now that we're nearly halfway through the season and we are still right up there and not showing signs of falling away as they'd expected. It's now gone from thinking we're doing well based on momentum but will drop away to we're bang average but somehow fluking results. It's easier psychologically for fans to think that than it is for them to credit us for outperforming them with a squad that cost less than they've spent on individual players in their squads. |  |

Kone cost Watford 10m EUR.
As you say, that has to sting when you look at players like Davis, Hirst, Broadhead, Chaplin all for around 1m (give or take).

Last season was clearly weaker, Blackburn spent most of the season in the playoffs on negative goal difference
Sunderland just promoted from League One where they hadn't exactly torn it up, were comfortably in the playoffs and Luton, yes Luton managed to achieved promotion to the Prem
On paper this season looked tougher, simply because their were a lot more big clubs in the league and the relegated sides had been in the Premier League for a little while. All three are showing they'd picked up that depth in their squads.
It's probably no coincidence all three promoted sides from last season, look like coming straight back down as well |  |

All this only works in our favour.
Teams underestimate us. Opposition fans turn on their own team when we're winning which only weakens them, while our fans are singing their hearts out galvanising our players.
We are essentially maintaining an underdog mentality while top of the league - it's little Ipswich vs the world, how dare they play with the big boys!
It's the perfect conditions - I hope it continues for the rest of the season. Screw everyone else. We know what we are. That's all that matters. | |
