Pubs/bars in Barcelona for Town matches - any recommendations would be great! 23:57 - Apr 3 with 1196 viewsrykenn

Me and the family are in Barcelona this weekend, and of course would love to not miss the derby if possible. Had a little look for sports bars, but if any Town fans have places they’ve tried and tested on trips to Barcelona that would be ace. I’ve never been, what a weekend to be away 😂 thanks in advance!

“What is a club in any case? Not the buildings or the directors or the people who are paid to represent it. It’s not the television contracts, get-out clauses, marketing departments or executive boxes. “It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city. It’s a small boy clambering up the stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him, and without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love.” - Sir Bobby x

there won’t be a plethora of options but The Michael Collins will put it on for your for sure - I’ve watched a couple of derbies there in the past and Niall, the owner, will always make sure there’s a screen available for it.

It’s perhaps not the nicest pub in the world - but it’s directly opposite La Sagrada Familia, so you could easily tie in a pre/post match visit. Realistically, it would only be shown at Irish Pubs.

Watched Brighton v Ipswich game in Irish pub in Barcelona years ago. Went in day before and asked. Game was Sunday lunchtime, same time as Spanish GP which Alonso was expected to win.

They reserved a corner table/ TV for us but no sound. Didn’t realise barman was a Budgie, he greeted us matchday in a Norwich top.

Thanks a lot - this could work out really well actually so will definitely consider it.

Any idea of the name of the place? That sounds fun that the barman was a budgie!
