looking at other prem league managers salaries... 10:29 - May 28 with 3110 views | blueasfook | KM has done very well to make himself one of the higher paid managers in the premier league without a ball even being kicked yet. If his new salary is the rumoured 100k a week that will give him an annual wage of £5.2m - up there with some established prem league managers like Eddie Howe and way more than managers of last season's newly promoted sides like Kompany. I know there is a whole support team that deserve credit, but we literally couldn't have done it without him. What KMc achieved is not the same as a parachute club getting promoted, or a team that has been building in the Championship (and losing money) for a number of years.

Yep, and when you consider he probably would’ve been on £30k+ a week on his existing contract anyway. If it’s an additional £50k a week as reported that’s £2.5m a year. We got an additional £5m just by virtue of Saints and Leicester coming up with us and the distribution of parachute funds. Staying up is worth a fortune, and keeping McKenna is our best chance of doing that. No guarantees, but if we go down I expect he’ll either take a significant hair cut or move on anyway and therefore be off the wage bill. It’s ludicrous money, but a sound investment right now. I suppose the only concern is if it causes any friction internally. We’ve got so far off the back of the spirit, it can potentially be a bit damaging if he’s seen to be on such a whack that’s out of kilter with everyone else. Hopefully we can overcome it through some big bonus incentives which I’m sure we will.

A financial risk for us too if we struggle and his stock falls and we’re stuck with him in the Championship. But maybe he’s immune from what happens on the pitch, like Kompany. And maybe we won’t struggle (I think he/we may surprise a few people this year).

Yea it was copied and pasted from a Web page table. Unfortunately, TWTD still runs on 1990s technology so didn't come across too well.

Can you expand on the "significant hair cut". I'm intrigued...

Presumably any contract he’s signed involves a pay reduction in the event of relegation. It’s pretty common.
