I so nearly put Palmer on the right and Watkins up top, but thought Saka would give us more width and Kane did provide a couple of moments yesterday. Foden has looked far brighter than Bellingham over the past two games, and it does feel like a Gerrard/Lampard situation where, at most, only one turns up in any given game when being played together.
I'd prefer Walker on the right and Shaw on the left but no idea if the latter is ready to start. The above is based on us playing the Netherlands, Belgium or Ukraine. If we face Slovakia or Romania I'd go for Alexander-Arnold on the right and Walker on the left.
And my most controversial point of all - people talk about a lack of Grealish, but I think we miss Henderson. At least he has experience of playing alongside Rice and is happy to sit back, letting the Arsenal man go forward. As it is, we're under utilising him too. This is completely in hindsight though; I appreciated where Southgate was coming from when the squad was picked. |  |

I would leave out Pickford , Kane, Trippier, Foden , Mainoo . Replace them with Gomez, Alexander-Arnold , Watkins, Palmer and any other goalkeeper ! | |

Bellingham's been poor the last couple of games so dropping/resting him would be fair enough.
I quite liked Ian Wright's suggestion last night of Saka at left back (if we play someone who'll defend against us), obviously he'd have to play it like Davis plays left back for us, that way Foden can come inside and be a second number 10 alongside Bellingham/Palmer |  |
