Just received few party leaflets in the post, including Socialist Equality Party 15:39 - Jun 27 with 4878 viewsWeWereZombies

A socialist alternative to Starmer's Labour Party ? OK, maybe

Anti-war movement ? Yes, much needed

No to Gaza genocide - Absolutely

Stop NATO building up to a war against Russia - Hang on a second

So I think I am going to stick with Labour for the moment...

Dont let them split the vote and let tories back in.

Happened where I am in the local elections. Could easily happen again in many places.

That’s the worry isn’t it. Labour HQ are obviously worried about that as well, which is why they’re trying to downplay the polls. For me, it’s pointless voting Greens anyway as they’ll never get in here. For once though it would be nice to vote for what I believe in, rather than what I’m against. It’s easy to see why a lot of people feel disenfranchised.

I don't think I've seen a single tory poster in this neck of the woods, for the first time in 34 years and 7 or 8 general elections. Not even the massive ones farmers usually have in their fields.

I only received a Nick Timothy 'contract'...and a barmy independent.

Having had a look I've found there's a doctor here also for reform...

Dr Lee Nelson?

Oh, playing leaflet top trumps are we ?

Well, I have had one from Reform and being a good citizen I even read it to help me decide on my voting intentions. Didn't take long and it's now in the log basket.

Labour leaflet landed this morning, covered in union jack flags.

It’s the Sneyd Park area of Bristol where you rarely see any indication of the existence of Labour. Did a double take when I saw it on the mat. Assumed someone in the area had found out my true heritage.

Green and Lib Dem blurb landed a couple of days ago.

No Tory loo roll to report yet, which is ‘utterly unprecedented’ as they say these days.

The only Conservative poster I have seen so far in my village is outside the local Conservative candidates house….

This village is usually awash with them

Our local tory (Julian Smith) in his leaflet sensibly stuck almost exclusively to local issues & local projects, with which he's done quite well tbf.

Only one mention of his party in national terms!

Also had a leaflet from Reform - went straight into recycling.

Reform leaflet just landed. Hardly anything on it.

Stop the Boats
Make Work Pay
Zero waiting lists
Freeze immigration

That’s it. Quite how they’d achieve zero NHS waiting lists with no immigration is interesting. Or maybe they’re not talking about the NHs and mean the phone queues at our ticket office? That’s one waiting list that would be good to get rid of.

I've not had anything from the Tories or Labour. The Tories have no chance of winning here and for Labour it's a very safe seat so they probably aren't wasting resources. I don't think Lib Dems have bothered either, they destroyed their support in this constituency when they got into bed with the Tories. Greens have been active, had one leaflet from Reform which was as daft as you'd expect. We had an interesting one from a party representing women's rights which was basically full blown TERF stuff and nothing else. I can't see them doing very well here.

Hopefully any Green leaflets are edible, or compostable,….I guess if they are edible they would eventually be composted….hmmmm…..now that I have thoroughly thought this through, I really hope they have edible vegan leaflets, would definitely be a winner.

That is just one reason why FPTP is not fit for purpose.
