Exactly this and from Ashton himself we can’t afford to get too much wrong so why would we take the risk. He isn’t really the profile we look for either imo. It's more discussing an upcoming free agent who's showed a determination to get back into the England squad. Now that may be a ridiculous dream, but only he knows.
He may have been on 100k, he won't be on Monday and he won't get that again.
It may and probably won't even be a thought of ours, but if we're happy to take a punt on a player who'd barely played football in 4 years due to numerous injuries, then I don't see an issue suggesting a player who's a good experienced age who may be able to prove his doubters wrong on a free, when as you say we have limited finances. |
