Bare in mind people were happy to see Williams Return 11:13 - Jun 30 with 3641 viewsFrimleyBlue

I still think we'd be a good club for Dele and his contract is up.

Wish him well but the stakes are too high to gamble on him or Williams.

Exactly this and from Ashton himself we can’t afford to get too much wrong so why would we take the risk. He isn’t really the profile we look for either imo. Not really a pressing/athlete type of player and he isn’t that quick. Would be a no from me but obviously if management thought otherwise would get behind it.

It's more discussing an upcoming free agent who's showed a determination to get back into the England squad. Now that may be a ridiculous dream, but only he knows.

He may have been on 100k, he won't be on Monday and he won't get that again.

It may and probably won't even be a thought of ours, but if we're happy to take a punt on a player who'd barely played football in 4 years due to numerous injuries, then I don't see an issue suggesting a player who's a good experienced age who may be able to prove his doubters wrong on a free, when as you say we have limited finances.

My problem with him, is if he is determined to get back into the England team why didn't he do that at Everton?

Dyche style may be different to many, but he keeps teams in the prem. It was the perfect opportunity for Alli to prove his ability and get back into the England team.

He said he wants to make the World Cup squad….
I reckon KM is eyeing players hungry to do this. Nketiah, Smith Rowe, Johnson…players on the fringes who need a couple of excellent seasons to put them in the frame. Alli fits this profile.

it was reported that he would remain with Everton non contract for pre season.

I know England are struggling in some people's eyes, but I didn't realise we are struggling enough that Dele Alli is on the fringes of the squad.

He’d struggle to make the England Soccer Aid team.

If Plymouth are daft enough to take on Rooney, Alli might have a chance there but he’d be better off heading to the Saudi league and playing irregularly for large amounts of cash.

He really doesn't fit that profile at all.

If Alli joined a club and had two excellent seasons rekindling his early career form, he’d be that profile. Why wouldn't he be? Age?

I didn’t say England squad, I said squad meaning club squad. They’re all players with history or possible international pedigree who could and should be eyeing the World Cup. Alli a massive outside bet but he made a public statement announcing his ambition to focussing on that as a goal.

Unless he was on a pay as you play deal it would be absolute madness.
