I don't know what's weirder: that Ipswich Town are bidding £30m for two players, or that Hull City have two players worth £30m!
This is very exciting stuff. Two absolute class players, and just the sort of additions that we need! Philogene is, with respect, a big upgrade on Sarmiento, and Greaves is probably an upgrade on either of our starting CBs.
Can't think of two better (realistic) signings in these positions, and we're pushing the bounds of what is realistic, which is always good to see.

It will, without a doubt. But if our starting offer is £30m, you'd like to think we have an understanding of what they're to achieve on both (suspect £20m each), so imagine a deal would get done around £35m, but with it more being loaded towards Greaves for accounting reasons. |

Hutch we've got for ~£20m, so with age, attributes, pedigree all being very similar, but Philogene slightly older, got your benchmark price right there, slightly less imo (maybe rose tinted glasses)
Greaves I compared to Harwood-Bellis, who, on the face of it, has been through the England set up his entire life, at a top club, whereas Greaves hasn't had that, but, on the more positive side, was in the championship team of the season. Is he £20m? I don't think so, but £35m for both probably right.
Also, as mentioned, bit of wiggle room for FFP or PRS or fudging books, however you want to dress it up. |  | | |

Brentford are a bit further ahead of us on their Premier League journey and even they were gazumped on the Archie Gray deal by Spurs.
So I think it is going to be difficult to compete with West Ham and the like for the same players.
