Leif for England! 11:42 - Aug 6 with 2188 views | Mediocre_Quick | Where do we need to be finishing next season, or how do we need to be performing for Leif to get a call up down that England left hand side then?
Leif for England! on 11:47 - Aug 6 with 2138 views | ITFC_Forever | Surely it's about how he performs? If he doesn't play all season and we win the league, he still won't get in the England squad.

Yeah but comparably if we get relegated and he plays every game to a level acceptable ……..

Leif for England! on 12:45 - Aug 6 with 1902 views | Denny32 | We haven't seen anything special to really say he's up there for England..sure he has had most assists for his position. And goals as well and his forays up the field plus his delivery of the ball..he wonf be afforded such luxury in the Premiership. If you are taking about him for England. Well then you might as well say greaves Is good enough for England and and any players that stood out in cham.it doesn't work like that mate .
Leif for England! on 13:00 - Aug 6 with 1846 views | mutters | Our final position has nothing to do with whether he gets a call-up, though being in a winning team will probably showcase his talents more. He needs to show greater defensive nous or become more of a left midfielder (which if he does then he wont get near the England setup due to the existing players). He was allowed to roam forward last season as it's clearly a strength of his and it also is the way we play football. This season will be a big test I feel as we will need to see what he can do when he has players of a very high quality running at him. I feel he has the potential, but I need to see it at the next level first.

Exactly, people say that he is getting so many assists and he is excellent going forward, but even last year at Championship level he got caught out a number of times defensively. Unless he improves the defensive side of his game, he shouldn't and won't get a call up IMO.

He didn’t get ‘caught out’ loads. He just plays a very attacking style under Mckennas instruction. If McKenna didn’t want him playing that high up the pitch he wouldn’t be. His defending is by and large pretty decent when he’s not up the pitch.

Leif for England! on 13:53 - Aug 6 with 1654 views | TheBoyBlue | I got the impression that the only thing stopping him being in contention at the Euros was the lack of Premier League experience which was fair enough. Therefore, if stays injury free and has anything resembling a competent start to the season I'd be surprised if wasn't in the next international squad. Although I suppose it also depends on who the England manager is.

Leif for England! on 06:33 - Aug 7 with 1295 views | ElephantintheRoom | He needs to show he can defend - and we’ll know within two games if he can. Nothing in his performances so far suggest he is anywhere near international standard - although I concur that most international games during qualifying are below the third division standard so in theory he could star against Gibraltar, San Marino etc.

Then he gets in the England squad and sold to a top side. He now has the chance to perform on the very top stage. Plenty of players at lower teams have showcased themselves into the England team and usually to a transfer at the same time. The trick for Town is for the team to perform to high enough a standard that we hang on to him, or to sell him for such a fee that it funds us to bigger and better things.

Maybe the new England manger will work with a back 3 with Leif on the left and Alexander-Arnold on the right. I think that is the only way he will get a call up in the short term.
