Just came across Ipswich.co.uk
Given Ipswich Star and EADT seem to have got worse over the years thought this was worth a share. No ads, no typo's and the like here and the site just seems cleaner and easier to read. Might be worth a look.....

Happy to answer any questions anyone has about the site and our plans.
I'll start with the obvious question, "Why is there no Town content?"
It's pretty straightforward: time and money. I'm running the site solo at the moment and simply don't have the bandwidth to do a good job of covering the daily news cycle, investigations AND Town content. There's a lot of good Town content already out there, probably more so now we're in the EPL, so I want to make sure that what we put out there is different and adds value.
Lots of exciting plans, but it'll take time to be able to properly invest in it. |  | | |

Respect the effort but if you’re just a one-man band how can you expect to produce enough content to keep people coming back to your website? (A site much nicer than the Star’s ad-heavy monstrosity) |  |

Indeed, we certainly need a proper news website in the area based on proper journalism rather than people sitting at a desk in Norwich scouring social media and using Google and Google Maps to inform their knowledge of the area. | |

In short, by focusing efforts where they matter, being incredibly efficient, working alongside freelance domain experts where applicable, and working incredibly long hours.
We won't cover every story the Star does, but we'll cover the stories that matter, and we'll cover them well.
You'll be amazed at how much one person can cover in a small town, though.
Hopefully, that's evident from our coverage since we launched just a week and a half ago. For example, we broke the Burrell Road murder story last night, not the Star.
For what it's worth, the plan is to hire, but it's actually incredibly difficult to find and bring in the right people. But with the support of readers, we'll get there. | | | |
