His wife’s from Ipswich so a loan move might appeal to him.

Zaha would be a signing on an entirely different level, but zero chance, a big Prem club would snap him up.

Nah. Most top prem sides already have their wide men sorted. If he goes back to prem. It'll be one of the promoted sides.

I think it waa made clear that Ioannidis doesn't want to join us, despite Ipswich submitted the highest bud 2 months ago.
Having said that, seeing that Hirst will miss at least 7 Premier League games now, we need to bring in a centre forward such as him or perhaps Armando Broja, who are good with their backs to goal, can hold position and have the body strength & skill to turn PL defenders.
Maybe not getting his preferred move to Bologna (they signed Thijs Dallinga) or Sporting in the meantime might have refocused him 🤔

Thing is. Some say £9 mill on szmodics is risky after 1 good season

27 mill after 1 good season is riskier.

Ioannidis is 4 years younger, and has played European football.

With no experience of English football or living in England at all.

I know which is riskier (but doesn't mean would work out worse if it happened).

Another newly promoted club possibly getting Zaha shows we are still behind just due to our name, we wouldn’t have a chance at Zaha and yet we’ve come up with them. We seriously need AT LEAST 2 attackers in the door and ready to play a part against Liverpool, as it stands Ladapo is going to be playing 20 minutes.

It’s easy for us to moan and the club will be working hard, but it’s seriously desperate now. Not signing anyone in 4 weeks is pretty poor no matter how hard it is to do business. We’ve needed a LW, an CM and another striker all summer, surely you’d have at least one of them wrapped up for the first game??

A big club didn’t snap him up when he was a free, can’t see it now.

His north of £100k a week might also be a problem.

Broja would be interesting, seems to have the raw ingredients to be useful and grow

He’s already 6ft3 I think.

Did see someone tweet we were the club in for him but I think that was a wishful guess. That said if Omari is talking to ex teammates about how good he’s had it here, who knows?

Leicester won the Prem and FA cup within the last 10 years and had been in the Prem for a long period before relegation in 2023. Southampton had also been in the prem for a long time before relegation in 2023. Leicester also won the championship last season.
Many, many players will see both their recent history compared with ours over the last 15-20 years and see them as a better bet for surviving this season than us, that's football.
Once we've established ourselves in the Prem it will be a lot easier to attract players.

I would absolutely go all out on Broja, pedigree at a big club, scored a few goals in the premier league for Southampton on loan, young and room to grow (in value not just size).

Genuinely have no idea what's going on with them. Don't even think their fans do.
