They are much more advanced in their recruitment, in that they can scout and find, , a Columbian and an Argentinean international, and now not need them anymore or at the moment. Yet promoted teams do want them.

Not sure what Burgess has to do with a scouting network. But erm thanks for bringing him up? I hope you remind the many others who didn't see him as championship quality. I look forward to seeing it.

But no. I didn't say the first thing either. But erm thanks

He's highlighting how wrong you are about so many things football. Ref Burns too.

But it's all about opinions isn't it so you keep on with the negative and fantastical drivel and others will keep calling you out with ever increasing exasperation.

It's not a competition Dyland so I'm happy to keep sharing thoughts, right ones or wrong it's all good and healthy.

Have a good day. Weather is beautiful down this way. Already hitting 20 in the car this morning. Beautiful.

And yes indeed. Not been working since the sun came out, from choice which is a privelege and I feel very lucky every day the sun shines like this. Been up nice and early and also have a bit of driving to ferry peeps around this morning, and looking forward to a hot car and keeping the dawg cool. Have a good one yourself.

Should have been started 3 years ago. Didn't buy it last summer that there was never a need to. If the club had everything being done to prem standard since the take over then that should have included recruitment. The fact we don't even had a head of recruitment doesn't sit right for me either.

But no. We don't compare with Brighton in anyway they are more established. KM has the potential to do great things here but Ashton needs to start showing why KM signing an extension with us was the right thing to do.

Do you actually know that we haven't started building it?

The recruitment team has grown quite a bit over the past couple of years as I showed you in a different thread.

Unless we put in a £21m bid for Ioannidis purely off the back of video scouting then it suggests someone is doing some live scouting for us abroad.

Many clubs use consultancies to boost their overseas capability. Wouldn't surprise me if we're doing some of this.

The bigger issue is players wanting to come to Ipswich.

There have been fantastic efforts to bring players in that have only failed due to player preference.

This is not fault of anyone at the club right now. It will take time to cement an image of a long term to permanent Premier Club.

How many have actually turned us down?

I know a few, Burnley defender, Greek striker, Philogine?

I think we are caught between two stools in that what we have to spend won't buy the top, top players and the one's we want and also the numbers we require taking into account fair play rules mean's that getting say five or six players in for the remaining £50-£60 million is proving a very hard task and due to perhaps attaining Premier League status was sooner than expected. But then having say a five year plan to get from Division One through to the Premier League may have not worked anyway. How long would Gamechanger have continued to plough money into the club if it had taken 6 or seven years to reach the Prem. We are where we are. We obviously need a few more in before the window closes and the two injuries haven't helped one iota.

Stool A or Stool B?

It's not really healthy for everyone else to read the constantly negative baseless drivel.

Ahem. Brighton have a £375 million debt which is paid for by the owner. Ipswich can’t possibly hope to compete with that sort of largesse - and that includes all the money thrown at them by Chelsea. Like Bournemouth, Brentford and other clubs living hugely beyond their means in the Prem, Brighton are one or two duff signings from financial oblivion.

McKenna won’t care about any of that. He was offered £5million a year and accepted it - then decided to stay here for a year. It’s only other people’s money after all.

Your lot won’t get much for handing over your club over for £59m…. Funny how the wheel goes full circle isn’t it.

Why the hell would McKenna pay himself with his own money?

That’s not how employment works.

I imagine if Elephant was offered £5m a year he'd accept it as well.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Town sold their soul to Evan’s for £8.5 million. He took them down a division and lost £100 million plus - and you probably believe the cowboys paid £45 million for the wreckage? Since then the new ‘owners’ have been burning through money even faster. They’ve taken their ‘dividend’ and are still spending way beyond what the club can afford. Yes it’s going to end very well.

Name 1 club in the top 3 leagues that don't spend more than they can afford.
