Yeah, if it was just for the Man City game then fair enough - first PL away game, big club etc - but the wording sounds like it'll be only 2% for every away game.
Even as someone with a large amount of away points, I'd rather others get a chance of getting to a few away games a season, otherwise it'll become even more of a closed shop. Maybe they could do 2% for the 'big' games, and 10% or higher for games that will sell less tickets?

Didn't realise the 2% would be kept for all games - seems a bit daft but suppose it keeps more available for people who have been to at least a few aways which is fair enough.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

I personally would prefer someone with say, 19 points get a ticket over someone who can buy a membership today and get lucky in the ballot having never been to an away game.

2% is more than generous.

Where it says

"To enter the ballot for Manchester City, a supporter must have a 2024/25 membership and be in the following priority windows 5+,10+ and 15+ APP"

Doesn't every membership have 5+ points anyway?

How are people supposed to get points then? Or is that your aim, to prevent them?

FWIW City is the last away game I would want to go to and I won't be trying to get tickets.

2% is not 'more than generous' - personally think it was a bit disingenuous of the club to sell the memberships with the ballot perk without making it clearer what a tiny number they've held back.

Also feels like they've changed their approach from what they originally advertised which was the below;

For example, should an away fixture sell out during the 15+ APP points window, members who fall in the next priority window and below (ie 5+ through to 14 APP) will be eligible to enter a ballot for the chance to purchase a ticket for the selected away fixture.

On the basis of the above - 15+'s should not be allowed in this ballot. If it's going to be 2% - it should be protected for those that had no chance of buying a ticket.

I don't think that would be fair... We all saw what the bunfight was like for tickets for the 15+ group. you may think they "had a chance" but actually, if you joined the queue and got put at the back, then you had no chance of getting a ticket, so it seems a bit unfair that someone with lower priority should then get an opportunity that you didn't have.

Two things to that, broadly agree with the points you make but.

a) they still had a a chance, whereas those on 5-14 had none.
b) the above is what the club advertised when they sold the memberships. By changing this afterwards, it does reduce the chance that the ballot gives you

2% is the figure that has been said for away games since the ballot system was announced.... not sure how it could be any clearer.

I don't think I've said it wasn't? I agree, no issue with that.

I was just quibbling with Sitters description of it as 'more than generous'

Tbh, 60 tickets for all other Town fans who do t attrned every away gone is a bit unfair. I'd have ghough a 1k tickets of thd 3k given to the club would have been fairer. The current format prevents any Town fan other than those who have attended every away game last season, little or no chance of accruing points.

2% does seem like a very small amount.

I understand rewarding people who have been to away games in the past, and they are with the points system.

It's going to become a pretty closed shop if every away game gets sold out in the 15+ points as anyone below that doesn't have a chance except the ballot, which lets face it, is going to be a very small chance of getting any.

….if you went to 5 aways last year (add in 10 points for previous and current memberships) you had a decent chance of a ticket. If you went to 10 aways, that’s less than half of them, then you were guaranteed a ticket.

2% is insanely low. I don't know what typical allocations are, but if it's 3000, that's 60 tickets. Hardly worth doing.

You bigot. I couldn’t do away games last season as I could afford it. But now I can, because the grounds are more desirable.
