I liked our approach Saturday 12:54 - Aug 19 with 1496 viewsIPSWICHFANITFC

We attacked that game. We were brave and we went man for man off the ball against much better players on paper.

I think that's exactly how we have to approach every home game this season. We need to be on the front foot and we will pick up results by playing that way.

It's a shame Luongo tired quite early on as I felt he was winning a lot of duals in the first half but the pace of the game escaped him in the second half and we lost that defensive balance down the left. Jack Taylor isn't good enough on or off the ball for me. Hopefully the Swedish lad signing is wrapped up soon.

Poll: If selling Jackson meant getting in a wide man, would you be happy with Garbutt?

We do need Cajuste in early this week - hopefully today - so he can get used to his team mates so he can at least come on as a sub at City. Taylor strikes me as someone who would be far more accomplished taking the number ten slot, though it was interesting listening to Westlake against Nice indicate that his role at Peterborough isn't really replicated here.

If we approach these 2 games in a radically different style to the rest of our fixtures - in a low block defending for our lives - I think it might make it harder to come out and play a more front foot game when we need to.

Realistically we're long odds to get anything out of either game but at least this way we will have got used to pressing high against elite opponents.

I'd rather we sticked to the approach that got us here.

We have an identity and a way of playing. KM has shown he can tweak and adjust it as needed but still within keeping of our general approach.

I'd rather that and accept we might get tonked every now and again - than suddenly abandon everything that got us to where we are.

Like you, I think if we keep doing what we do (and have done so well), we'll get results in the Prem.

Agree with this, we might get lucky against one or two of the teams fighting for European places by changing the way we play but we need to stick to what we know, and accept that probably isn't going to work against the teams we shouldn't be concerning ourselves with.

Confidence, commitment, but not as much quality. Got found out and need to learn quickly. Man City is a write off so we need to pick up points between game week 3 and 8 to get into the season without a troubling narrative forming. Things can sour quickly. Worried
