walking from Man Picadilly to the Etihad 15:45 - Aug 19 with 7770 viewsAlan_Handsome

I am going to the match on Saturday on my own and was planning to walk the journey from the railway station to the ground as it's only 1.5 miles. Does anyone know if it is a safe walk, or would the walk from the station to the ground be through any rough areas? It's essentially walking along the A662.
Thank you in advance.

Visiting the Etihad, a few useful tips. Posted by a Man City fan on Tractor-Boys forum. Thought it might be helpful on here ...

The away end seems nearer to the Velopark tram stop which is one stop to the east of the stadium. I wonder if queues are better from there, as after the game you would be getting on the tram one stop before the Etihad Campus stop. Does anyone have experience of this?

From the away fans guide....

After the game the Etihad Campus stop is the only tram stop near to the ground which will be open. Both VeloPark and Holt Town close for approximately one hour after the final whistle. Note that the trams will be incredibly busy and that the Etihad Campus stop is the other side of the ground from the away end. If you intend to use this route then do make sure you allow plenty of time if you are booking train tickets. For most fans, it would be quicker to walk back to central Manchester, especially as it is slightly downhill on the way back.
