narwich fans 21:20 - Aug 27 with 3803 views | jackp_1878 | i’m watching palace norwich and not only are half of them sitting down on an away day but they’re one chant wonders, all they sing is on the ball city. very boring and depressing chant yet its allegedly a good one because it’s the first football chant
narwich fans on 21:24 - Aug 27 with 3697 views | Jasper | I was driving close to the ground not long before kick-off and I barely saw any of them around, and its not like they are hard to spot in that putrid kit.
narwich fans on 21:33 - Aug 27 with 3569 views | Nthsuffolkblue | have found the commentary very odd. Kept saying how nodge are in complete control and Palace would be worried ... while it was 1-0 Palace and nodge were creating nothing at all. Even at 2-0, they said this isn't over yet!

Yes. nodge created 2 good openings all match and hit them at the keeper or wide/against the post. Aside from those two moments, Palace have been in complete control. The commentator seems to be catching up now and suggesting Palace will win.

Commentary is still rather odd. Nodge fans have spent the last 5mins singing "we've got/lost the ball"; apparently that's evidence that they're impressed by what they've seen from their side. Erm... No... They're bored stiff, that's why they're singing that.

narwich fans on 21:50 - Aug 27 with 3287 views | Durovigutum | In fairness I remember being in the away end at Palace and spending half of the game singing "big fat Joe's barmy army". Or was it blue army. It was almost 20 years ago. Those were the days....

4-0 Eze waltzing across the entire width of the 18yd line, before passing the ball home through four Nodge players.

Indeed. That is a sign of admitting your team has been well and truly second best and being thankful they have some possession. It is a little odd because actually they have had quite a lot of the ball (in their own half whilst Palace are happy to sit off them at 1/2/3-0 up).

i don’t get it the commentators are still glazing them saying they’re going to suprise a few teams this season and it’s looking good for them yet they’re 4-0 down and 2 places off relegation. these sky commentators are quite odd sometimes

To be fair, I think they will surprise a few this season. I don't think everyone expects them to be closer to the bottom 3 than the top half.

narwich fans on 07:59 - Aug 28 with 2094 views | NthQldITFC | They're creaming themselves because with that glorious and world famous defeat last night, they're half way to beating us for a sixteenth consecutive season. They only have to avoid us in the FA Cup 3rd round and put in another glorious and world famous losing performance, channelling the spirit of Dortmund and Fat Gavin Holt, and they'll have put us in our place once again. On The Ball City.

Bit sad when you have to put the words of ‘the world’s most famous football song’ up on the screen at home games to remind your own fans how it goes.

To be fair, a lot of commentators are not very clued up in reality, so whilst THEY were expecting Norwich to be out of the blocks like a train a lot of more sensible people(and me) already knew that they were going to not have a good time of it this season(so far). [Post edited 28 Aug 2024 9:29]

narwich fans on 09:20 - Aug 28 with 1650 views | GeoffSentence | Norwich fans claim Otbc as the oldest football chant, but it isn't. The first football chant was 'he banged the leather for the goal' which was written by Edward Elgar and is a Wolves chant. otbc's claim is actually based upon a typo. It is actually the world's oddest football chant.

'It is actually the world's oddest football chant.' I thought that was David Icke. Oh, 'chant', sorry.

narwich fans on 10:00 - Aug 28 with 1493 views | The_Flashing_Smile | I didn't know they were playing Palace last night. Got back from central around 7 and was surprised to see one Nodger in Cry Pal station, thinking, 'You don't get many of them round here". When you realise they were playing Palace that's pretty lame, although I imagine most will come through Norwood Junction. Anyway, nice to hear they got tonked.
