None of the rumoured deals seemed right. We’ve already made a very large number of signings. Yes we could do with quality cover, but not at any cost, either financial or in terms of team spirit. I do wonder if this will be a blessing in disguise. Let’s hope we can keep our key players healthy.
It’s interesting how people perceive the window. If we’d made even one of our marquee signings today instead of three weeks ago everyone would be happy. And yet we’re actually in the better position.
No come on. We have signed 2 England under 21 internationals, fantastic prospects, a top class England international midfielder on loan, a Swedish international midfielder, 2 highly rated centre halves, a premier league experienced right back on a free transfer, Championship top scorer from last season and several more top players. Please stop the positivity. We didn’t take a punt on an injury prone striker from Chelsea for £30m.

Same. The Broja one felt wrong from the off (when he didn't fancy it) and got progressively less exciting when the injuries became apparent. None of the random names yesterday got me going. Even Latte Lath, who we know is quality, went and pulled a tanty by refusing to play for boro and therefore made me think he sounds a bit of a nob.
I think it was the last minute Fulham hijack that spoiled the mood really,, and this was a signing that we weren't even expecting as the day unfolded.
The striker thing was frustrating but by the time 10pm had arrived I had made peace with it. The whole Broja thing sounded too risky and likely to bite us on the backside, especially given we were aware there were concerns.
Whether or not there were viable alternatives out there, available, affordable, interested etc, we may never know but we definitely haven't recruited out of panic.
Agree entirely Cotty. There are those on here who would have been perfectly happy signing anyone at any cost. Not me. We also have seen the forwards we have written off - Delap, Hirst may not be any good, AAH isn’t any good.
Fitness permitting Hirst will do well at this level and AAH cannot be judged until he is fit. Delap? He’s improving.
Sky panel a little earlier said we’d had a terrific window. Ok they are maybe four dunderheads but they are at least objective third parties.
Would a decent No 9 back up or first choice have been welcome? Of course but none of what was touted particularly impressed me and there was no point signing just anyone or overpaying and compromising what we might need in Jan.
Yep, chill out and let’s see how we do.

Is that why we didn't get another striker. The ONLY option was broja?
It's weird. Everyone's agreed its been a good window. Everyone's happy with the business. Apart from not signing an additional striker so we are not relying on Al hamadi as back up.
Not sure why you all keep making it sound like people are annoyed we didn't get broja. I've yet to see 1 poster share their disappointed in not get broja himself.
