How would you rate our summer transfer window out of 10? on 18:43 - Sep 3 by J2BLUE
8. A striker would have been the icing on the cake but I think we'll be ok as long as Delap doesn't get an injury.
Not having a go, I'm really not, but I have seen quite a few posts like this. Not all players get an injury bad enough to keep them out. Look how hard Morsy plays, yet rarely injured. Phil said Hirst will be back in a couple of weeks, so back up almost ready to step in if required. I get the concern, but some on here seem to think that Delap is bound to get injured, which obviously isn't the case. Not saying he won't, just the assumption by some that he will.

Indeed. We have 3 players for 1 position. In normal circumstances Delap starts and Hirst is the finisher. I don't think Hirst would be too impressed to be 3rd choice and so not making teh squad normally. Beyond that we have Al Hamadi and then the option of Szmodics/Broadhead/Chaplin playing there.
It is clear we would have got someone else in if we could, but I don't see it as being the problem some seem to. We have built a team that doesn't rely on that position scoring the goals and by adding Szmodics and Clarke, we have reinforced that aspect considerably.

So we're agreeing then?
I meant if Delap gets a serious injury in the next couple of months. Would be a big loss but even then with Hirst and Szmodics (yes not an out and out striker, but I think he's a back up) I think we would be ok. Al-Hamadi to come off the bench as well if needed.
